This is Century of Conflict, a website created for the completion of History content based on the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and Victorian Certificate of Education. Century of Conflict aims at the study of The Modern World (VCAA), Twentieth Century History (VCE) and Revolutions (VCE):

  • Year 9 - The Modern World: A.O.S 3 - World War I 
  • Year 10 - The Modern World: A.O.S 1 - Interwar Era / A.O.S 2 - World War II 
  • Year 11 - Twentieth Century History: Unit 1 - Rise of the Nazi / Unit 2 - The Cold War
  • Year 12 - Revolutions: Unit 3 - Russian Revolution / Unit 4 - Chinese Revolution

This website will assist students in their understanding of the historic content covered throughout their study of History, and will help give them insight into particular events, leaders and battles, which are all broken down into timeline studies.

Timeline studies attempt to break down the content into digestible pieces, to help assist a student's understanding to ensure they are not overwhelmed with information. This approach is to give the student the whole overview on particular studies, and to help to inspire their own interpretation of events and how they escalated.

4. Extension Activities
These workshops will extend your knowledge on particular topics,:
  • Class Discussion - Students are to take it in turns reading over a historic document and the class discusses its importance as we cover the information as a collective.
  • ​Document Study - A written/visual attachment will allow students to gain further understanding by reading and comprehending information and completing inquiry questions.
  • Important Figure - An outline of a particular figure is given to the students to increase their understanding of why they were of importance. 
  • Video Study - A video provided will assist students with the study.
  • Research Task - A research task about the topic will help the student's ability to use the internet and text books.
  • Map Analysis - A map is provided to help students understand particular events to assist in improving their knowledge.
  • Lyrics/Poem - A lyric sheet is given to students to help them understand the importance and meaning of music during the timeline study.
  • Essay Plan - To further our understanding of the content, students are to plan an essay plan with the given prompt which will relate directly to the chapter.
